Bay Shore Build Begins: First Walls Rise with Trevi and Her Family
On August 1st, volunteers gathered to raise the first walls of our latest home. The home will be purchased by Trevi, a special education teacher, and her two children.
As with all of our work, this success is possible because of our amazing community partnerships. We are grateful to the Town of Islip and Supervisor Angie Carpenter for awarding Habitat Long Island a grant that helped make this home possible.
We are also incredibly grateful to Nick Taormina and Be The Example, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting fellow nonprofits through fundraising initiatives and meaningful partnerships, including their generous Home Sponsorship.
Framing is underway, and there is a lot of work ahead in Bay Shore. If you, your company, your school or your congregation would like to get involved, email betsy@habitatliny.org to learn more about how it works.
