Together, we will raise the walls of a new affordable home in Wyandanch, providing a hardworking family with the stability and security they need to build a brighter future. As part of this special tribute, sponsors will have the opportunity to sign a framed wall or door, leaving messages of gratitude, reflection, and hope. This heartfelt gesture will stand as a lasting tribute to President Carter’s profound impact on our mission. Come participate in this inspiring effort.
Meet Lakeitha, the future homeowner of this year's CEO Build home with Habitat.
"Myself and my two young kids live together in a single bedroom. We love to spend as much time together as possible, traveling, bowling and skating. However, the discomfort of sharing a bed with the two of them makes it very difficult to get decent sleep.
Our future is bright though, I have a job as a bus operator for MTA, I have plans to study toward a nursing degree, and we’ll soon have a house to call our own.
Being able to help not just myself, but also other future homeowners build their dream home is truly an honor. I’m so excited to be able to give back to my community and to meet all of the volunteers and sponsors."
