Wyandanch Transformation: Two Homes Take Shape Side-by-Side
Things are progressing quickly at our two construction sites in Wyandanch, thanks to the commitment of community volunteers and local partnerships.
The first home kicked off framing on April 18th, when Huntington High School’s Habitat Club celebrated becoming our first-ever student House Sponsor after raising $80,000, marking the day with a wall raise. Since then, 13 volunteer groups have kept the momentum going through the summer heat.
Next door, our second home’s first walls were raised on May 1st with a CEO Build. Volunteer groups have kept pace with the home next door all summer long, and this home is also getting closer to completion.
Framing is up, siding is on, and the finishing touches are coming together in the weeks ahead for both homes.
We are looking forward to announcing the future homebuyers and neighbors who will be purchasing these homes in the weeks ahead.
Of course, none of this happens without volunteers and community partners willing to show up, build after build, on 90-degree days. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this swift success!
We still need help putting the finishing touches on both homes before they are complete. Groups and individuals are all invited.
